Sunday 7/12/2014, Exhibition continues from 5pm, then from 7pm live music with wasist das presents Girl Sweat and Local Improvisers. £3

Girl Sweat is a one man band from Stockton-On-Tees who have been wholesale converting audiences through some devasting support slots. That’s how they got me. Got me so bad I put a tape out for them (sold out in no time). To me its like the bastard lovechild of Mark E Smith & Jon Spencer fronting peak era Cramps after being remixed by early Cabaret Voltaire but with the brutality of early Swans.

Local Improvisers is a new Todmorden trio consisting of Sam McLoughlin (Samandtheplants/N.Racker), Bridget Hayden (Vibracathedral Orchestra) and Jake Blanchard. Formed initially to do a live soundtrack to a screening of Nosferatu last Halloween, they’ve decided to carry on the good work and play music with the constraints of a film dictating what they do.

Admission is just £3 and hopefully the new festive Was Ist Das? compilation tape will be ready and on sale.

Then from 7pm it's Boogiejuice with Ric Platt, Louis Finch, Simon Paterson and Inkfolk residents CP and Causa.

In the late 90's early 00's Boogiejuice established Hebden Bridge as one of the UK's best kept clubbing secrets. With a solid team of resident DJs, plus guests such as James Holroyd, DiY, Chris Duckenfield, Luke Unabomber and many more, Boogiejuice established their reputation as fierce party starters playing the very best in house and techno. Now in 2014 their sound is as fresh as ever, and with Ric Platt, Louis Finch (now also running 'The Idiots Are Winning', London) and Simon Paterson taking to the decks, expect this one to go off

Inkfolk join forces with Gezellig to bring you this cult Sci-fi classic by John Carpenter with LIVE
re-score by Animat

Dark Star, John Carpenter’s first feature is widely regarded as a cult classic and a seminal influence on 21st century sci-fi. Co-written by and starring Alien Screenwriter Dan O’Bannon, this 1970s low budget space comedy has found its place in the science fiction pantheon as the missing link between 2001: A Space Odyssey and Red Dwarf.

Animat have developed a new soundtrack to the film which they perform live using a mixture of their own original brand of dubby downtempo, an eclectic selection of tracks from their DJ archive and remixed versions of themes from the original score.

Sheffield-based musicians, producers and DJs Mark Daly and Michael Harding, aka The Only Michael, have been working together as Animat since 2004 and have released six EPs and two albums on the Big Chill label. Their previous film re-scores have included The straight story, The last Man on earth and Belleville Rendezvous, which sold out at both Gezellig nights at the Trades Cub and Picture house for the Arts Festival and even had the Mayor of Hebden Bridge in attendance.

Doors 8pm
Film 9pm
