We are proud to present as part of Inkfolk's October
Festival a UK Premiere and Exclusive performance of Manuel Göttsching's
seminal masterpiece E2 E4 LIVE at The Hebden Bridge Picture House on Sat
03/10/2015.
This is the first time this piece of electronic and guitar based composition has been played in the UK, and from its original recording in Berlin in 1981 it has only been played a handful of times around the world, in great cities including New York, Madrid and Berlin.
The recording is said to be one of the most influential pieces of electronic music ever made, that helped create and develop the House and Techno sound across the world as we know it today. It has been played and listened to by DJ's and music lovers all over the world, most notably in New York where it became a Loft classic, where the album would be played by David Mancuso in full in the early hours of Sunday morning with Larry Levan also making it an anthem at legendary Paradise Garage. It was then later sampled by Sueno Latino with the classic Italo house hit in 1989 mixed by Detroit pioneers Derrick May and Carl Craig with numerous re-edits, reshapes and remixes by Basic Channel's Mark Ernestus and Moritz Von Oswald, Prins Thomas and again reshaped by Carl Craig.
E2 E4 will be played LIVE by Manuel Gottsching in its original format of 58 mins 38 seconds in the beautiful surroundings of The Picture House in Hebden Bridge, an old fashioned style 500 seater Cinema that first opened its doors in 1921.
The evening will also include another solo performance by Rough Fields, who has became a local to Hebden Bridge of late and played an amazing gig at a recent WasIst Das night at Inkfolk. It was so good that we thought it would be a great opportunity for him to open up for Manuel Gottsching with his field work recorded style of ambient music to set the atmosphere plus there will be DJ support from the legendary Moonboots of the long standing Aficionado Recordings parties and local DJ CP.
For this concert we are installing for one night only a high end world class sound system by Meyer Sound that will be professionally engineered by Pro Audio in Bradford.
The Cinema has a fully licensed bar serving local ales and beers.
