When they first met it was murder...
There was some argument in System Records about the last copy of Blackboard Jungle. An increasingly heated debate soon became a shirts off kind of moment, DaddyT threw his falafel at Dillinger and Slackears caught most of it in the crossfire. When things (including the falafel) had cooled off they decided to pool their resources and try their upmost to bring quality reggae music to the good people of the Calder Valley and beyond.

Inkfolk
21-24th August 2014
Thursday 21/08/2014 6pm Exhibition opening with illustrations by Zeke Clough with live music from WasIst Das feat The uk Muzzlers and Abrasive Pheasants.
Zeke is a local artist working with a variety of mediums to create intricate and detailed drawings. Clough is best known for his work with Shackleton: his twisted designs came to define the aesthetic of Skull Disco, the groundbreaking dubstep label that Shackleton ran with Appleblim, and the pair have continued to collaborate on projects like the recent Drawbar Organ box-set. Clough has also recently been commissioned to provide the art for Kevin Martin’s (of the Bug / King Midas Sound) Acid Ragga label, and held exhibitions in Berlin, Tokyo and Manchester.
Zeke's work will run for 4 days at Inkfolk.
UK Muzzlers is a new name for an old collaboration between Neil Campbell (Vibracathedral Orchestra/Astral Social Club/A Band) and John Clyde-Evans aka Tirath Singh Nirmala (Hood/Ovid Corpse). Neil’s discography is big enough to crash your browser. He’s collaborated with High Wolf (as Iibiis Rooge), Ashtray Navigations, Richard Youngs, Sunroof, Campbell Kneale, Merzbow and many more. John is from Hebden Bridge and first came to prominence in the band Hood (Domino Recordings) before branching out into deeper waters with his solo output and regular collaborations with Neil under the Astral Social Club moniker. This gig will be their first show as a duo for quite a few years and they teasingly suggest this will be a punk rock set….
Abrasive Pheasants are a neo-krautrock combo with jazz-punk tendencies
from hebden bridge, comprising
dan keightley – drums, percussion
matt lupton-levy – keyboards
steve lacey – bass guitar, electronics
michael linden west – nst guitar, electronics
This show will be 'pay what you can afford' but please do not bring your own alcohol as Inkfolk is fully licensed and serves a variety of nice bottled beers and things.
As usual, we will keep the live music last train friendly, but music of the pre-recorded variety will last much longer. Was Ist Das? Soundystem will be playing between band sounds and then taking things later will be our favourite record spinning reprobates.
